My name is Chris Lewis, and I work at Google as a software engineer.

In my past life, I was awarded my PhD from the Software Introspection Lab at the Computer Science department of UC Santa Cruz.
I studied the intersection of software engineering and video games, as well as the psychological drive to use software. My dissertation proposed Motivational Design patterns, a library of UX patterns that utilize behavioral economics and behavioral psychology to explain their motivational power. My advisor is Jim Whitehead.
